Nidhi Nahata

Therapist

I am Nidhi, licensed therapist in India.

I am a Clinical Psychologist trained in psychodynamic psychotherapy, working with adults navigating anxiety, relational difficulties, and internal conflicts.

My work is supported by ongoing supervision and training, with a focus on creating a space where clients can think, feel, and understand themselves more deeply.

My Approach

1. Therapy Rooted in Relationships

At the heart of my work is the understanding that our relationships shape us—from early caregivers to present-day connections. Many of the challenges we face in adulthood can be traced back to these early relational experiences. My approach is deeply relational, meaning that I pay close attention to how you experience others, how you see yourself, and how we relate to one another in the therapy room.

In therapy, the relationship we build becomes a powerful space for healing. By exploring the dynamics that emerge between us, we can begin to uncover repeating patterns, unmet needs, and ways you've learned to protect yourself emotionally. This therapeutic relationship becomes a mirror, a container, and a source of insight that helps you better understand how you relate to the world.

2. Working With the Unconscious: A Psychodynamic Lens

I also work through a psychodynamic perspective, which means I pay attention to the deeper, often unconscious processes that influence your emotions, behavior, and relationships. These can include unresolved childhood experiences, internalized beliefs, and unexpressed feelings that may be quietly shaping your current reality.

Psychodynamic therapy invites reflection and emotional depth. It’s not just about problem-solving—it’s about getting to the root of things. Through open-ended conversation and careful attention to your inner world, we make sense of long-standing struggles and emotional patterns. The goal isn’t to change who you are, but to help you reconnect with yourself in a more authentic and empowered way.

Professional Background

I hold an M.Phil degree in Clinical Psychology and have undergone extensive training in psychodynamic psychotherapy and relational models of care. Over the years, I’ve continued to enrich my work through ongoing supervision, workshops, and personal therapy—because I believe that as a therapist, I am always learning and evolving.

In my practice, I bring not only my professional knowledge but also my genuine curiosity, empathy, and commitment to sitting with you—wherever you are.

Who I work with?

I work with adults, young adults and adolescents navigating a wide range of issues, including but not limited to:

  • Anxiety and depression

  • Relationship difficulties

  • Trauma and complex trauma

  • Identity concerns

  • Emotional regulation

  • Grief and loss

  • Family conflict

  • Life transitions

  • Self-esteem and personal growth

I have a special interest in working with individuals who feel stuck in repeating patterns, struggle to express their emotions, or find it hard to feel safe in close relationships. If you’re someone who’s curious about your inner world and open to going deeper, we might work well together.

What you can expect with me?

Therapy with me is not prescriptive. There’s no judgment, no rush, and no expectations to “fix” anything overnight. We work at your pace. I’m here to hold space, ask questions that invite insight, and support you in making sense of your experiences.

Sometimes therapy can feel hard or uncomfortable, especially when we’re looking at painful parts of ourselves. But with time and trust, it can also feel deeply relieving, clarifying, and even liberating.

A personal note

To me, being a therapist is not just a profession—it’s a relationship, a commitment, and a privilege. I approach every therapeutic connection with respect, humility, and a sincere desire to understand you in the most human way possible.

If any of this resonates with you, I invite you to reach out. I’m curious to hear your story and honored to be a part of your journey.

A depth-oriented way of working

I am Nidhi Nahata, an RCI-licensed Clinical Psychologist (Rehabilitation Council of India) practising depth-oriented, psychodynamic therapy from my clinic in Rohini, New Delhi — and online with clients across India.

I hold an M.Phil in Clinical Psychology and trained as an Adult Psychoanalysis Fellow at the Washington Baltimore Center for Psychoanalysis (2024–2025). My clinical work is trauma-informed at its core: I carry an Intensive Trauma Treatment Certification, advanced training in the treatment of Complex PTSD, and training in Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) for couples.

Whether we meet at my New Delhi clinic or over secure video from anywhere in India, you are working with a licensed clinical psychologist who treats trauma, anxiety, depression, OCD, and long-standing personality and relationship patterns by working at their roots — not just their symptoms. Depth work is slower than a quick fix, and it is why change lasts.
